If you're going to San Francisco

Hello to the world!
As i have promised to write and show you pictures from my trip to California, here is the new post about traveling to San Francisco and taking the roadtrip to LA.
This was the best trip in my 2015.year and if you ever find yourself thinking about where to go to explore new cities and new places, San Francisco is definitely on MUST SEE list. It should be!
I must admit, it wasnt really on the top of my list since i always wished to see Los Angeles first but when the idea appeared and i had talking with so many people who actually live in SF, i was more encouraged to go! Big thanks to Mike&Kathy, Jimm Borrow and many other friends who gave me so many informations about this amazing city over the years! Love you all!

First of all, you have to start with the fact that SF hotels are VERY exensive (maybe in a class of NY hotels) and thats why me and my fiancee tried to find the other way. We were both very lucky to find Zoe&Shannon on Airbnb, who provide us a very lovely room with the huge bathroom (!) in thier amazing home in one of the neighborhoods in SF! Book here SF Love Story . Its was our first experience with Airbnb.com and we apsolutly loved it, especially because they were amazing hosts with tons of informations about the city, cooles spots in town  and the most grateful thing - they let us use thier bicycles to have a ride across the Golden Gate bridge!!! Definitely the highlight of our adventure and the most amazing experience!(worth dying on the hills!)
So as we arrived we wanted to check the neighborhood close to marina and followed by the recommendation of our host, we went to Pacific Heigts, had mexican burritos or tacos, a lot of cool bars, very crowded as the happy hour is pretty popular time to drink there (just an excuse, i would say) ;) Next day we went to Alcatraz and that was something. The prison itself existed from 1934. until 1963. when Robert Kennedy ordered the penitentiary to be closed. Its a huge island, only (!) 1,5 miles or 2.4km offshore of SF city. Remarkable property which had families of guards growing up there and just living the normal life. When it comes to prisoners, they say there was the most cruel and violent inmates. One of them is famous Al Capone ;)
There are some pictures i think you should see and if you ever find yourself in SF, go and see Alcatraz! The ferry goes from Pier 39, Fishermans Wharf on every half hour but be sure to buy your tickets online , few days before on www.alcatraztickets.com .
Then, we checked out Fishermans Wharf which is very touristy place, a lot of people walking around, there are shops, bakeries, chocolate stores and restaurants. But we wanted something less crowded and went to Little Italy to had italian lunch. Pasta offcourse ;) I felt like in an old movie.
Then we took a ride with cable car but before that we DIED walking up the hill in Nob Hill :))) I would recommend you to avoid the waiting line for cable car in Fishermans Wharf but ONLY if you are ready to walk up the hill for a few blocks! The advantage is, you get to see Lombard Street, curvy street right there in front of you and you can walked down the sidewalk seeing all the crazy cars being stucked on Lombard street. I dont really understand whats the pleasure in that ride, but anyway... The coolest place was Mission District with their hippy park Dolores where you have people chilling out, drinking beers, playing tennis and just having fun. We spent some nice time there and watched the full moon raising up on the sky. In the night time, we tried to check out a lot of "dive" bars like Zodiac, Elbo Room and many others on Market and Valencia Street. And then finally, we took our hosts bikes and biked over the Golden Gate bridge! What an experience! I was so thrilled! Not only for seeing the massive Golden Gate bridge and being on it but BIKING over , i have not ever imagine that will happend to me! And it did. Also we went and checked out the Golden Gate PARK which is huuge, maybe 10 times bigger then Central Park in NY with the tallest trees i have ever seen! And bisons ;)
On our last day, we rented a car and drove ALL DAY to Los Angeles because we wanted to be on Pacific Coast Highway to see beautiful sceneries on the coast. It looked like we are on the end of the world and thats the faaaarest point i went so far! It was dreamy and so unbelievable. Be ready to stop in Big Sur to check out amazing bridges and maybe have a lunch like we did, before stopping in lovely Santa Barbara, have a stop to see huge Elephant Seals in San Simeon just laying on the beach, sleeping or sun tanning ;)
And thats it! Hope you will have a chance to go and see beautiful California! Thumbs up Cali!
Enjoy the photos, guys! Hopefully i will have some new photos to share with you.

Zdravo svete!
Uvece smo uglavnom obilazili poznate barove kao sto su Zodijak , Elbo room i ostali barovi izmedju Market i Valensija ulice.Sledeceg dana smo konacno uzeli bicikle od nasih domacina i vozili preko Golden Gejt mosta! Kakvo iskustvo! Bas meni. I bizonima ;) Poslednjeg dana smo iznajmili auto i vozili se ceo dan pored obale nazad do Los Andjelesa kako bismo videli prelepe pejzaze.

California Dreamin'

Hi!
It's been a while, i know, i know... Happy to announce that i spent the best summer ever in USA (mostly in Maine),found the love of my life (!), went to California after many years of dreaming and got engaged in NYC!! What else a girl can wish for? Oh well... (the list never ends, right?!)
Anyhow, i m sharing with you some of my wonderful travel experience. In this post i would like to focus on my dream trip to Los Angeles (the "the city of angels")! Sure it is :)
I have been dreaming about seeing LA, honestly since i was a little girl. We used to have something like scrapbooks in elementary school which we would share with friends so everyone can write down their favorite things. When it comes to the question "What's your favorite city IN THE WORLD?", i would always wrote down "LA" even though i never knew anything about it but i heard from TV a lot (and i m talking about the kid who had 9-10 years!) Back in the '90s there was a popular TV show that everyone (including me!) was so obsessed about it "90210 Beverly Hills"...and i got there!!! Yeey!
To start the journey wasn't very easy since i decided to GO ALONE TO LA! How would a little girl like me go to a such a big city all by herself? I was determined to go but also a little afraid how will i get around. I m not willing to spent hours in subway or horrible traffic jam on LA highway. But driven by my many years desire to see the city of angels - i booked the flight ticket and the most important - the bus tour!!! There were many tours in LA and off course so many things to see while you are there but since i was spending only 3 nights in the city, i choose the right one that can pick you up from your hotel doors, take you to the most famous sightseeing places in LA, and by the end of the day, drop you off again in a front of your hotel doors. My choice was "A day in LA" tour (HERE) As my hotel was located in Santa Monica and just two blocks away from the beach and also from the bus starting point, it wasn't hard to find them. Jake was our tour guide and he was apsolutly amazing! Like some of the previous customers said "a total ROCK STAR!"
We started in Santa Monica, went to Venice Beach, Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive (haven't bought anything off course), had lunch at Farmers Marker, Griffith Park with Getty Museum, Hollywood sign, Walk of Fame and back to Santa Monica. On our way back we seen a lot of movie studios like CBS, FOX, Paramount Pictures...Our tour guide Jake was full with interesting informations like "this is where Mel Gibson got arrested for drunk driving, this was Arnold Schwarzenegger first gym and second gym, Jim Morrison's house, this was the place where Curt met Courtney, this was the restaurant where Elvis gave his new buick to one of the waitresses, Johny Dep's first music stage, Jim Carey first stand up comedy job" and many. many more...
At the end of the great day, i have follow the instructions of our tour guide and checked out the coolest roof top bar in my neighborhood in Santa Monica, called "Shangri-La Rooftop Lounge & Bar" (www.shangrila-hotel.com) and had margarita, off course :) Second day, i spent sun tanning on the beach in Santa Monica and got skin burned after ONLY 3 hours laying on the sand.
So thats it. The journey continued to San Francisco where i meet my fiancee but thats the story for another post ! Enjoy the photos and enjoy the ride, as Americans would say!
xoxo

Zdravo!
Zasigurno to i jeste!
i konacno sam dospela tamo! Jeeej
poljupci!
